This is a guide to what you can expect when collecting a new or re-imaged device from the IT Service Desk on campus.
We highly recommend that the Main User of the device books and attends the appointment for collection as setting up a device on "behalf of someone" is not possible. If you suspect that may not be possible, please let us know via the associated request to discuss further.
1. When your laptop is ready for collection you will receive a notification via your open ticket and through Outlook.
2. Please book an appointment using this link: You will need to sign in using your username@leeds.ac.uk
3. You will now receive two emails, an appointment confirmation and a calendar invite for Outlook.
4. A list of pre-requisites for the appointment:
5a. Windows 11 devices can be signed into and set up elsewhere, it is not compulsory to perform it with a member of IT however if you require any software installing that is not on AppsAnywhere / company portal / software centre or have questions about your new / reimaged device, now is the time to ask.
5b. Mac devices will require setting up at the service desk with an IT colleague, this is because it requires administrative privileges to perform the first few steps, they will assist in the set up process.
5c. Linux devices are collected from the Service Desk but have a few pre-requisites. Please make sure you have followed the documentation given to you by the Linux team and signed in to the device beforehand. Once this is done you will get a notification to book an appointment and pick-up the device.
