You’ll have no doubt already noticed a few changes, but we’ve got a few things up our sleeve to shout about and help you get the most out of your visit.
Our help articles have been updated and give you the fastest way to resolve your issue, but if you still need assistance you can raise a ticket. If you're logged in, each help article provides a button to take you through to log a ticket. Alternatively, if you're logged in and ask Falco for help, it can raise a ticket for you if you're not able to get the issue sorted.
First of all, we look much more like the rest of the University’s main sites now.
This new design also means that the site will be more accessible for everyone. It will work better with screen readers, and offer more contrast for better legibility.
There’s a section near the top of the page that will be dedicated to news stories and helpful content. Check back regularly for behind-the-scenes updates on various projects and teams within IT!
You’ll spot a few changes to the navigation bar at the top of the page to help you get to useful pages quicker, depending on the nature of the problem you’ve encountered.
As before, we still have a huge range of articles designed to help you out with all sorts of technical queries. You can search, use the quick links or ask Falco, our chat bot – more on all that below. We’re continuing to work on the support articles we’re publishing, and updating existing ones to make them more user-friendly.
Once you’ve had a look at a relevant article, if you still need help or you need to request something, you can open a ticket to get some help directly from the page. This works much as it did on the old website, with a member of our team getting in touch to help once you’ve submitted the form.
Our chat bot can still be found near the bottom of the screen, as well as in Teams, and is on-hand 24/7 to help direct you to where you can find some help. It’s still learning the ropes, so be sure to give it a try when you can and give Falco some feedback to help it grow.
Our latest tweets are now on our homepage! We’ll be tweeting all our latest tips and service updates.
Once you’re logged in, you can add useful or helpful articles to your favourites for future use – to add a favourite just click the heart icon. You can then quickly find these pages from the top of the page.
Depending on if you study or work here, and if you are logged in or not, you will see different help articles on the homepage. Some will be based on what lots of other people are looking for, what might be helpful at that time of year, or if they are important things you need to know or do.
As before, if there is a major disruption to our service or some upcoming maintenance we need to carry out, we’ll make sure you know about quickly through a new banner at the top of our homepage. Click it to get more information or to tell us you’ve been affected by the same issue.
