PyMOL

What is it?

PyMOL is molecular visualisation software.

Where is it available?

The University has purchased an academic site licence for PyMOL and the software is available for students and staff, for teaching, learning and for non-commercial research purposes.

PyMOL is available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Windows users can access PyMOL via AppsAnywhere on University computers and Windows Virtual Desktop. The software can also be run on personal Windows devices via AppsAnywhere.

Mac and Linux users with personal devices can access a local download of PyMOL via AppsAnywhere. After selecting the download button you will need to accept a user agreement. You will then be redirected to a folder which contains the PyMOL for Mac or Linux installation files and instructions.

If you use a University-owned Mac or Linux device, you can request the software via an "Install Software" request- see related request.
