The issues with availability of laptops have now been resolved, however, there is still a significant backlog of requests. As a result, we can't supply new computers unless it is absolutely necessary (for example for a new starter or if your laptop is broken).
Please note the delivery times from the supplier for laptops and Macs (both laptops and desktops) are still very volatile and outside our control, so unfortunately there may still be delays when we order equipment for you.
From January 2023, Microsoft will no longer support Windows 7. This poses a security risk for all Windows 7 devices on the University network. We have set up the Windows Refresh project to remove all Windows 7 laptops and PCs and replace with Windows 11 devices by the end of 2022.
There is no need to request an update or replacement if you have a Windows 7 device. You will be contacted by the Windows Refresh project soon.
We are not able to do bulk replacements (eg for a whole office area) at this time. Please discuss options with the Business Relationship Manager for your area.
If your area needs laptops or docks to aid the return to campus, please discuss options with the Business Relationship Manager for your area.
