How to access Stream (on SharePoint)


Important terminology note: The earlier version of Stream will now be known as Microsoft Stream (Classic) https://web.microsoftstream.com/ and the new version will be referred to as Microsoft Stream (on SharePoint) https://stream.office.com to clarify the differences moving forward.

Stream (on SharePoint) is the new version of Microsoft Stream that empower users to create, share, discover, and manage video just as they would any other file in Microsoft 365. Stream (on SharePoint) is available to all University of Leeds Staff and Students. From Monday 27 June 2022, all users will notice new Teams meeting recordings will be stored in Stream (on SharePoint) rather than Stream (Classic)

How do I access Stream (on SharePoint)?

Stream (on SharePoint) can be accessed either by going directly to this link https://stream.office.com or by following the below steps:  

  1. Go to https://office365.leeds.ac.uk/ and log in with your University credentials.  
  2. Select the waffle icon (top left corner) to open the app launcher.
  3. Under the Apps heading select All Apps.

  4. Scroll down to the Other heading and select the Stream (on SharePoint) app – the logo is the old Stream logo with a yellow star on.  
  5. This will take you to the Stream (on SharePoint) homepage.  

Once you have followed the above steps once, the new Stream tile will appear straight away when selecting the waffle. 

If this does not happen you can follow steps 1-4, right click the Stream (on SharePoint) app and select Pin to Launcher.
