NVivo is a qualitative data analysis (QDA) computer software package produced by QSR International. NVivo helps qualitative researchers to organize, analyze and find insights in unstructured or qualitative data like interviews, open-ended survey responses, journal articles, social media and web content, where deep levels of analysis on small or large volumes of data are required.[1]
NVivo is available for Windows and Mac.
NVivo is available via AppsAnywhere.
The software can be accessed from the following locations:
Mac users with personal devices can access a local download of NVivo via AppsAnywhere. After clicking the NVivo download button you will need to accept a user agreement. You will then be redirected to a folder which contains the NVivo for Mac installation file and instructions.
If you use a University-owned Mac, you can request the software via an "Install Software" request- see related request.
When you open NVivo, you may notice a myNVivo "Log In" option, but this is currently not supported. You cannot currently log into a University licensed copy of NVivo with a myNVivo account. The software features available under the University's site licence can be accessed without a login.
"myNVivo" is an online account system for NVivo and its associated cloud modules: Collaboration Cloud, NVivo - Integration and Transcription. The University site licence does not include these services currently, so transcription services are currently not available through NVivo.
If you have a locally installed version of NVivo, and are looking to update the licence, please see the related article about updating your Nvivo licence.
