Around 90 teaching rooms have been equipped with live streaming capability across campus. This allows teaching delivery to both in-room and remote online students synchronously and primarily allows one-way delivery of teaching content. Online students will watch a live feed of teaching shared through one of the three University virtual classrooms the tutor choses to use (Microsoft Teams, Collaborate Ultra or Zoom).
I'm thinking about using Live Streaming and have some questions, who can help?
Staff can access guidance and FAQs about live streaming on the Digital Education Systems Help website.
For questions about room equipment and setting up in the room please contact the Estates & Facilities Help Desk on 0113 343 5555.
For questions relating to the Digital Education Systems you may want to use for live streaming (e.g. Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Padlet), please log a general request with the IT Service Desk.
For pedagogical advice, you may find the SCALA guide on the Digital Practice website particularly helpful
What technical support is available in the Live Streaming rooms?
If you encounter a technical issue during the set-up of your teaching session contact the Estates & Facilities Help Desk on 0113 343 5555.
What happens if my online students have technical difficulties?
Students are advised to troubleshoot their technical issues by searching online. The following sites provide comprehensive guidance:
If they are still unable to resolve the technical issues they are experiencing they can access support via the IT Service Desk (this website) by using the available options (when logged in).
In-room students are also advised to troubleshoot using the same online resources or to visit the IT helpdesk on campus for assistance.
