Windows device Notification "Work or school Account problem"


This issue applies to Windows devices linked to a Microsoft or University Account through Teams, Office or Intune Mobile Device Management (MDM).

You receive a notification for "Work or school account problem", not resolving these issues can cause problems connecting to applications such as Teams or Outlook, and also enrolment with other resources such as Intune Endpoint Management.

 

Fix Work or School Account

One of the following notifications pop up or are displayed in the Action Centre (bottom right).

You can click on the message to open the settings page or click Windows Start Menu and search for "Shared Experience Settings" page.

 

On the Shared Experience settings page you will find a "Fix Now" button under Accounts. Click "Fix Now"

The University's Duo Multi-Factor Authentication window will now open.

 

Click "Send me a Push" or "Enter passcode" as per you preference.

 

Once authentication has completed the "Fix Now"  button should no longer be visible under Accounts and you should stop receiving fix  "Work or school account problem" notification via the Action Centre.
