You can now use Mediasite to link to video content from other platforms such as YouTube. For example, you can add multiple external videos to a module Media area in Minerva. This can make it easier for students to see content from multiple video sources all in one place.
Important Note: Currently, only YouTube, Vimeo and Daily Motion are fully supported but more providers will be reviewed and added in future.
To link an external video, log into Mediasite
Click on Add Presentation.
Choose the option for Link External video.
Copy the URL from your external source and paste it into Mediasite; for example, paste your YouTube link here:
The video thumbnail and name will automatically populate from the external source. You can enter a description if desired.
Click Create Presentation.
Please Note: The video is hosted externally and cannot be edited or downloaded. It is merely intended as a convenient link to gather videos from multiple external websites.
