Please see the information below for accessing COMSOL Teaching software.
COMSOL (Teaching) is modeling and simulation software available to taught students in the Faculty of Engineering and Physical Sciences.
COMSOL Teaching version 6 is available via AppsAnywhere.
The software can be accessed from the following locations:
Please see the Related Articles for information about accessing AppsAnywhere.
Mac and Linux users with personal devices can access a local download of COMSOL via AppsAnywhere. After clicking the COMSOL download button you will need to accept a user agreement. You will then be redirected to a folder which contains the COMSOL for Mac and Linux installation file and instructions.
If you use a University-owned Mac or Linux machine, or require a local version of COMSOL installing on a Windows computer, you can request the software via the Engineering and Physical Sciences Software request - see related request.
Teaching versions of COMSOL 5.4 and 5.5 have previously been made available to taught students, as a local installation option for Windows, Mac and Linux users.
The COMSOL teaching licence has recently been updated (October 2022), and users with existing local installations will need to update their COMSOL licence information, otherwise the software will not open.
The most recent version of COMSOL can be accessed through AppsAnywhere on Windows computers, or as a download option for personal Mac and Linux systems, but if you need to continue to use version 5.4 or 5.5 as part of your studies, please see the related article about updating your COMSOL Teaching licence.
