Logging in with your University ID card
- Hold your University ID card so that your photograph is upside down and facing the printer

- You can pull or push your card through the card reader
- Maintain a steady speed and swipe your card smoothly through the reader
- The green indicator light on the card reader changes to white with a beep when a card is successfully swiped
Card registration
Student ID cards are already registered for MyPrint.
If you are a member of staff you can register your ID card at the printer:
- The first time you swipe your ID card it will say "Unknown Card" and ask if you want to register your card - select Yes
- Tap the username box and enter your university username (without @leeds.ac.uk) then tap OK
- Tap the password box and enter your university password then tap OK. For help with capitals, symbols and numbers see the On-screen Keyboard Tips
- When you have entered your username & password tap Set
If your username & password were entered correctly you will see the message that your card has been registered and you can swipe it to log in.
Once you have registered your ID card you can use it at any MyPrint printer.
You can still login to the MyPrint printers with your username & password if you don't have your ID card with you.
Problems
Indicator light changes to red with a bee-bo sound
- The card reader didn't get a good read of your card
- Try again and focus on swiping your card smoothly through the reader
Indicator light stays green and there was no sound
- The card reader didn't detect any data on your card
- Check that your photograph is upside down and facing the printer and swipe again
ID card is damaged
- The card reader uses the black magnetic strip on the back of your ID card
- If this strip is visibly damaged (ie the black strip is scratched, peeling, or the plastic is split or has chunks missing) it may not read reliably or at at all
- Strong magnetic sources can scramble the data held on the card
