This guide shows you how to upload your video from Mediasite to the University's YouTube channel (subject to approval from the central Communications team).
You can publish your Mediasite content to the University of Leeds YouTube channel which is managed by the University of Leeds Communications team. They have produced a fact sheet about the University of Leeds' YouTube channel.
As a prerequisite, the recording must first be published to VideoLeeds. For information on how to do this, please see the How to publish content to VideoLeeds guide.
Once the video is available on VideoLeeds, log into Mediasite.
Select the video by clicking on the title. Make sure it has a suitable title, description, tags, links, presenter and other metadata for external publication. You can change or update this by choosing Edit Details.
Once you're happy, click Publish to the right of the video.
Choose 'Add Publishing Destination'. Under the YouTube heading, click on 'Publish to YouTube'.
Click on University of Leeds YouTube.
You will then be presented with the Terms and Conditions which will need to be accepted.
Please Note: When clicking on the links, hold down the Control key as you click to ensure the links open in a new browser window. Otherwise, you will need to restart the publishing process.
Tick the box: 'I acknowledge that I have read and agree to the above terms and conditions'
From the drop down list underneath, please select 'All Streams Responsive' and click 'Next'.
On the next screen, choose 'All streams - responsive' under the Video Layout heading. Then need to select the attribution license which is either Creative Commons or Standard YouTube License. If in doubt, select 'Standard YouTube License' (as shown in the screenshot below).
Then click Save again at the bottom of the article. You will receive a notification that the presentation has been updated (shown in the screenshot below):
This request will then be sent to the University Communications team for review. You will receive e-mail updates when your request has been approved (you may receive up to three emails). You can check the status by clicking Publish again.
If your content is rejected, you will receive an email from the Communications team explaining why. If you'd like to discuss this further, please email: email@example.com
To unpublish content you will need to contact the communications team and request it to be removed from the University of Leeds YouTube channel.
Please include the title and the web address of the video on YouTube.
