About SIMS

The SIMS Team support and develop the information systems that underpin student administration at the University of Leeds.

The primary system that SIMS (Student Information Management Systems) work with is Ellucian's Banner; which functions to support almost every aspect of applicant and student administration. This includes recruitment and admissions, enrolment and registration, student progression and examinations, degree classification and graduation ceremonies. Banner is also integral the generation of essential reporting and statistical information such as the HESA return for the UK government.

SIMS work with Banner focuses on implementing software and technology upgrades, maintaining interfaces between other corporate systems (such as SAP), developing new and enhanced functionality, whilst also providing training and support for users.
