Specialist software in clusters

AutoCAD and LabView are both available in some computer clusters.

AutoCAD is probably the most widely used of all the major CAD programs. It provides comprehensive drafting capabilities in 2D and 3D plus solid modelling. It provides the ability to create a model (in model space) and define multiple drawings (in paper space) which show that model. Each drawing may contain one or more viewports onto the model (showing a particular part of the model to a particular scale) plus annotation.

AutoCAD 2013 is installed in the following clusters:

  • Cohen
  • Chemical & Process Engineering (24 hr)
  • Richard Hughes (24 hr)
  • Textiles (24 hr)
  • West Teaching Lab (24 hr)

LabVIEW is a graphical development environment for creating flexible and scalable test, measurement and control applications. LabVIEW interfaces with real-world signals and provides data analysis.

LabVIEW 2011 is installed in the following clusters:

  • Cohen
  • Chemical & Process Engineering (24 hr)
  • Mechanical Engineering 4.42c
  • Richard Hughes (24 hr)
  • Textiles (24 hr)
  • West Teaching Lab (24 hr)
