Here is a quick guide showing how you can access the Information Security Essentials training.
First, you will need to log into Minerva (the new VLE and Portal) at: http://minerva.leeds.ac.uk/
Note: If you are an ADMIN user, you may have another account you can use (on the DS domain). If you are unsure about this, or have difficulties logging in, please contact the IT Service Desk.
On the homepage, click on the Information Security Essentials image to the right of the screen (as shown in the screenshot below).
If this does not work, please click on the Teach tab (in the top right). Click Organisations and then click on Information Security Essentials.
Then click on Start Essentials Training.
Once you have completed the training, please make sure click on EXIT and don't just close the window. Otherwise your attempt may not be recorded.
Check you have completed the training
To check that your training has been registered, log into Self Service (on a University computer or via Desktop Anywhere). Choose Work Information then Work Profile.
Click the Training tab (you may need to scroll down). If you can see Information Security Awareness Essentials and it has an End Date, you have completed the training (which must be redone every year).
Please allow 24hrs after completing the training for your record to be updated.
