How to get access to the N: Drive

The N: Drive is a departmental shared drive for files, folders and documents. Access to shared areas is normally restricted to members of the faculty or service but you can request access.

If you need access you'll need to ask a colleague who already has access to request it by contacting the IT Service Desk.

You'll need to tell them:

  • N: drive file path to the files or folders on which permissions need changing
  • Name and username (DS or Admin domain) of those requiring access
  • The level of access required for each user; read only is for users who may not make changes; read/write allows creating, editing and deleting.

You can't ask for permissions for yourself. A colleague who already has access can request permissions for you. The N Drive should already be visible in My Computer. However, if it's not, you can manually add it using the instructions below.
