Your M: Drive is where you can store all your files. University file storage is secure, backed up daily and you can get to your files from anywhere.
You can ask for more disk space by contacting the IT Service Desk.
The N: Drive is a departmental shared drive for files, folders and documents. Access to shared areas is normally restricted to members of the faculty or service but you can request access.
Your OneDrive - University of Leeds gives you 1 TB of cloud storage. It allows you to view, edit and save your work on any device that is connected to the internet, and share files and folders with colleagues.
You can share large files with people both from within the University and outside by using something called 'File Transfer Protocol' (FTP).
Every member of the University of Leeds (staff or student) has a home directory (or M drive) and a OneDrive - University of Leeds file storage area in Office 365.
You can normally recover files you've accidentally deleted from network storage areas (which includes both the M: and N: drives) yourself.
Ensuring that your work is safely stored and backed up is essential, and will prevent you from having to rewrite coursework or notes in the event of the originals being lost.
